This complete Thailand roundtrip includes all of the Kingdom's famous sights: Bangkok, River Kwai, the Ancient Capitals and the Golden Triangle. Accommodations are chosen for it's central location, giving clients the freedom to spend evenings exploring on own. The stay at the Jungle Rafts in Kanchanburi and Ankhang Nature Resort (managed by the excellent Amari Hotel group) sets the program apart from seemingly similar itineraries. Beach stay can be added to choice.

Day 01 Meals
Meet upon arrival, transfer to Viengtai Hotel. The Viengtai is located within 10 minutes walking distance from the Chao Praya River, 20 minutes walk from the Wat Pra Keaw and right in one of Bangkok's oldest shopping and market areas. Within minutes are a Post Office, several banks and exchange counters as well as a host of restaurants and food stalls. Overnight Viengtai Hotel (deluxe room)

Day 02 Meals: BL
Morning board the public Express Boat North to Nonthaburi, where a visit to the local market gives an insight in fruits of Thailand. Continue by chartered long tail and rocket boats to explore the narrowest of the klongs (natural and man-dug canals). Stop at local temples and orchards, bird watching opportunities. Return to the old center of Bangkok with a short stop at the Royal Barges. Lunch at riverside restaurant. Afternoon visits to the Wat Pra Keaw (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Grand Palace and the Wat Po (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Transfer back to hotel. End of tour. Overnight Viengtai Hotel

Day 03 Meals: BLD
Early start with a drive to Kanchanaburi, about 120 km west. Visit the JEATH Museum, The Bridge over the River Kwai and the war cemetery before boarding the train for a ride over the Burma Railway to Nam Tok. Upon arrival lunch. We then board a longtail boat for an hour-long trip on the Kwae Noi River to River Kwai Jungle Rafts. As there's no electricity, oil amps will make the place a wonderful place at night. Comfortable, no-frills rooms, each with hammock and private bathroom. Dinner and overnight at River Kwai Jungle Rafts.

Day 04 Meals: BLD
Morning visit of Kaeng Lawa Cave. After lunch time to relax or take a boat trip to the Sai Yok Yai Waterfalls, where swimming is a possibility. Visit the nearby village of the Mon, a minority that mainly lives in Burma. Optional elephant ride through the bamboo forest. In the evening traditional music and dance performance by the Mon. Overnight on River Kwai Jungle Rafts.

Day 05 Meals: BL
Return by boat to Pakseng and drive to Ayuthaya. Upon arrival check in Krung Sri Hotel. Lunch. Afternoon visit of Ayuthaya's ruins and temples as well as the Ayuthaya Study Centre. Overnight Krung Sri Hotel.

Day 06 Meals: B
Drive to Pitsanuloke, en route visiting a local crocodile farm & monkey temple. Lunch on own in Pitsanuloke. Visit Wat Mahatat Pra Chinnaraj & Folk Museum. Overnight Sukhothai Resort.

Day 07 Meals: B
Morning visit to Sukhothai Historical Park & Ramkamhaeng Museum. Lunch on own. Afternoon visit Sri Satchanalai Historical Park & Sawankolok Kilns. Overnight Sukhothai Resort.

Day 08 Meals: BL
Morning drive to Chiang Mai, stopping at Lampang and Lamphun en route. Check in. Afternoon and evening free at leisure. Overnight Pornping Hotel.

Day 09 Meals: BLD
Morning visit to Doi Suthep and the Hill Tribe Museum. Lunch at ban Suan Restaurant followed by an afternoon visit of handicraft places (silk, silver, laquerware, umbrellas, etc.). Evening traditional northern style Kantoke Dinner with folkdances. Overnight Pornping Hotel

Day 10 Meals: B
Day free at leisure. Overnight Pornping Hotel

Day 11 Meals: BL
Drive up North. Visit Chiang Dao Cave and an elephant trainings centre en route. Around noon arrival in Doi Anghang Resort, lunch. Afternoon explore beautiful surroundings of the resort. Visit the Royal project, a research center which focuses on developing a wider variety of produce for local hill tribes. One can see a variety of flowers and fruits, such as strawberries, pears and kiwi's. Also a visit to the Musser (a hill tribe) village of Khop Dong, from where one has a beautiful view over the area.


Day 12 Meals: BL
Visit to Mae Sai, Thailand's most Northern point. It's possible to cross into Burma (optional) to visit the border town of Tachilek. Continue visit the Golden Triangle and Chiang Saen. Lunch en route. Late afternoon drive to Chiang Rai for an overnight at the Wangcome Hotel in the center of this quiet, charming city.

Day 13 Meals: B
Around 10.00 leave for drive to Chiang Mai. Stop en route at the Mae Khachan Hot Springs. Late afternoon board night train (sleeper/aircon) to Bangkok.

Day 14 Meals: B
Arrive in Bangkok early morning. Meet upon arrival & transfer to Viengtai Hotel. Room at disposal for use during the day until departure for flight home. Transfer to Airport. End program.

Day 1 Bangkok
Meet upon arrival, transfer to the Viengtai Hotel. Day 2 Bangkok
In the morning board the public express boat north to Nonthaburi. The huge local market offers an enormous variety of products such as Thai fruit of the season. Continue by chartered long tail- and rocket boats to explore the narrowest of the klongs (natural and man-dug canals). Stop at a local temple and enjoy the green and fertile surroundings with plenty of birdlife. Return to the old center of Bangkok with a short stop at the Royal Barges. Lunch at a riverside restaurant. Afternoon visits to Wat Pra Keaw (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Grand Palace and Wat Po (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Transfer back to hotel. Overnight in the Viengtai Hotel

Day 3 Bangkok
After breakfast early departure for the famous Floating Market of Damnoen Saduak. Continue to Kanchanaburi. Board the train for a ride on the last remaining part of the notorious Burma Railway. Cross the bridge over the River Kwai. After lunch visit a WW 2 field of honor as well as a small museum devoted to the construction of the Burma Railway. Overnight in the Viengtai Hotel.

Day 4 Bangkok - Uthai Thani - Nakhon Sawan
After breakfast leave Bangkok and drive northwards to the small town of Uthai Thani. Board a ricebarge for a relaxing trip of several hours on the Chao Phraya River. In the afternoon arrive in Nakhon Sawan. Overnight in the Pimaan Hotel.

Day 5 Nakhon Sawan - Sukhotai - Phitsanulok
Leave Nakhon Sawan and drive to Sukhotai, one of the former capitals of Siam. Visit the beautiful Sukhotai Historical Park by bicycle or by car. Lunch. In the late afternoon continue to Phitsanulok and visit Wat Yai which contains the Chinarat Buddha, one of the most famous buddha images of Thailand. Overnight in Amarin Nakorn Hotel

Day 6 Phitsanulok - Nam Nao National Park
After breakfast drive to Nam Nao National Park along a beautiful, winding road. Visit the huge and impressive Kaeng Sopa Waterfall. After lunch walk for several hours through Nam Nao National Park. Overnight in bungalows in the park itself.

Day 7 Nam Nao - Phu Hin Rong Klaa National Park
Early departure from Nam Nao National Park to Phu Hin Rong Klaa National Park which was once a bulwark of the Thai Communist Party. At an elevation of more than 1700 meters this National Park offers spectacular views as well as cool temperatures all year round. Visit the Visitor Centre and walk along strange rock formations. Overnight at beautifully set bungalows in the park.

Day 8 Phu Hin Rong Klaa - Phitsanulok - Chiang Mai
Leave Phu Hin Rong Klaa for Phitsanulok. Visit the Buddha casting foundry of Maj. Thawee where buddha images of all sizes are produced. After lunch board the train to Chiang Mai. This ride will take you through impressive scenery to the biggest city of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai. Transfer from the railway station to your hotel. Overnight in the Pornping Hotel.

Day 9 Chiang Mai
Free day to explore this interesting city. Your hotel is located conveniently close to some of the major sites of Chiang Mai. Overnight in the Pornping Hotel.

Day 10 Chiang Mai
Excursion to Doi Inthanon, Thailands highest mountain. Doi Inthanon National Park is famous for its birdlife. Make a walk through the forest close to the top of Doi Inthanon. Lunch. Visit the two pagodas devoted to the king and queen of Thailand. Visit the Vachirathan Waterfall, one of the many waterfalls of Doi Inthanon. Overnight at the Pornping Hotel.

Day 11 Trekking
Early departure from Chiang Mai. Drive to Chiang Dao. Visit the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp and witness the elephant show. Continue in the direction of Phrao. Lunch on the way. Today start walking after lunch. Unnecessary luggage will be brought to Chiang Rai where you will arrive on day 14. Walk appr. 2 ½ hours, pass by the Lahu village Pang Thong. Arrive in the Karen village Pha Lai late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the village.

Day 12 Trekking
After breakfast start trekking through beautiful scenery. Pass by the Akha and Lisu villages of Huay Ikow. Arrive around noon at the Palong village Mae Chon. Lunch. After lunch ride the elephant for about 1 ½ hours to another Palong village Pang Daeng. The colourful Palong tribe originate from Burma. Dinner and overnight in the Palong village Pang Daeng.

Day 13 Trekking
After breakfast start trekking for about 2 hours to the Mae Taeng River. Board your bamboo raft for an exciting trip on the river of about 1 ½ hours. After the rafttrip lunch and drive to Chiang Rai. Overnight at the Golden Triangle Inn.

Day 14 Chiang Rai - Bangkok
Full day excursion. Drive to Santikhiri, a Chinese community on Doi Mae Salong. Continue to the village Therd and visit the old headquarters of former drugbaron Khun Sa. Stop at hilltribe villages along the way. In the afternoon continue to Doi Tung. Visit the Royal Project, Wat Pratat Doi Tung as well as Mae Fah Luang Gardens. Overnight at Golden Triangle Inn.

Day 15 Chiang Rai - Bangkok
Today drive to the bustling border town of Mae Sai. Cross the border to the Burmese town Tachilek. Lunch. Continue to Chiang Saen, the site of the famous Golden Triangle where the Thai, Laotian and Burmese borders meet. Make a trip by speedboat on the Mekong River. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Bangkok. After arrival in Bangkok transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the Viengtai Hotel.

Day 16 Bangkok - Hua Hin
After breakfast drive to the seaside resort Hua Hin for several days relaxing at the beach. Overnight at City Beach Hotel.

Day 17 Hua Hin
Free day to enjoy sun and sea. An excursion to the Sam Roi Yod National Park is an option for those who want to enjoy an active day. Overnight at City Beach Hotel.

Day 18 Hua Hin
Another free day at the beach. Overnight at City Beach Hotel.

Day 19 Hua Hin - Bangkok - Don Muang Airport
Morning free at leisure. After lunch departure to Bangkok. Transfer to Don Muang
International airport for your flight. End of the program.
