HIGHLANDS:
Da
Lat: 300 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Da lat is lettered
as “home of the perpetual spring”. The weather is perfect
ranging from 16C to 20C. Intertwined into the vast pine
forest, are lakes and waterfalls. On whatever day of the year,
you can feel as if you were lost in an enormous multicolored flower
garden. The sounds of birds, the pine trees, the hills,
all make up a piece of Vietnam’s natural fine art. It a
6-hour scenic drive through the lush countryside.
Buon
Me Thuot: An area populated by some of Vietnam’s ethnic
minorities. There are approximately 65,000 inhabitants densely
populated in this area. In this area you can still find wildlife
such as elephants and mountain cats. The climate is ideal
for the coffee crop in Vietnam. The small but beautiful
city of Buon Me Thuot lies 450 meters above sea level. The
Dray Sap falls in the hardwood rain forest is impressive.
Spending 2 days here would be ideal for you to visit the minority
villages such as Ban Don ( Ede tribal people) or the beautiful
Lak Lake (can be seen only in dry season) where you can ride in
a dugout canoe. If you are adventurous you might want to
try our elephant treks.
Pleiku:
The market town in the center of a vast, fertile plateau whose
red soil is of volcanic origin. Many of the Pleiku’s inhabitants
are ethnic minorities whose villages are really worth seeing.
The elephant ride here is also interesting which are included
with your visits to the villages. Evening entertainment
may consist of traditional tribal music and dancing which will
leave a lasting impression on you whether it is the rice wine
or colorful tribal performance.
Kontum:
A region inhabited primarily by 27 ethnic minorities groups, including
the Bahar, Jarai, Rengao and Sedeng. A 45 km drive will lead you
to discover these unique people. Coffee, Soya Bean, and
rubber are grown in this 25,500 square km area which makes up
Gia Lai Kontum. This are area is known to be rich in minerals
such as gold, copper, and titanium. There still known to have
sightings of albino rhinoceros in this area.
